THE COMMITTEE

Picture
 PRESIDENT - HAZEL WILLIAMS
The main responsibilities of the President are to lead the monthly members’ meetings; to set the agenda for, and chair the monthly committee meetings; to generally co-ordinate the affairs of our WI and to oversee the work of fellow officers and committee members in accordance with the WI Constitution and Rules.  The role also involves encouraging good relations between Heswall Honeys and the local and wider community and representing our WI both within and beyond the organisation.  Another key aspect is to foster the development of an ever-widening range of interests and activities to promote the active and growing participation of a diverse membership.

SECRETARY -DI ATHERTON AND ASSISTANT SECRETARY JANE KIRKHAM
As Secretary I am responsible for recording minutes of Committee meetings and our AGM, dealing with correspondence from both Cheshire & National Federations and also from our members.

MEMBERSHIP - CAROLE HUGHES AND ASSISTANT MEMBERSHIP MARGARET HUNTRISS
I maintain our membership register and waiting list, respond to membership queries and co-ordinate the renewal of memberships at the beginning of the year.

TREASURER - JOAN WADDELL
The Treasurer is appointed by the Committee, at the first meeting after the Annual Meeting, to look after the financial affairs of the WI.  As Treasurer I have responsibility for the proper and efficient handling of the Heswall Honeys' money and to advise on financial planning.

SPEAKER SECRETARY - BRENDA CUTT
My role is to find possible speakers and arrange their attendance at future members' meeting. On the evening of the meeting I welcome the speaker and make sure they have everything they need for their presentation.

HOSPITALITY COORDINATOR- ANN HIGGINSON
My background is in the hospitality industry and this has enabled me to manage the catering provided at the monthly meetings and socials.  I organise and coordinate a rota for the team of volunteers who work behind the scenes at each meeting.  They provide the wonderful selection of cakes, teas and coffee for members, guests and speakers, as well as catering for the Spring, Summer and Christmas Socials.  I plan and purchase food for the various events and liaise with Heswall Hall's manager and staff.

TRIPS & ACTIVITIES - ALISON ADLARD & PAT MURRAY

The Activities Team, of Pat and Alison,  organise a series of diverting and interesting activities, catering for the diverse range of interests of our members and try to have a variety of events to cater for all tastes and pockets. Our role is to ensure that HHWI is able to fulfil the aims of the WI by taking part in a wide range of activities, discovering new interests and building new skills.

HOBBIES & INTERESTS - JANET SOWDEN

My main roles are to help people set up new groups and to report on group activities at the AGM.  I'm there to help you if you want to set up a new group, by gathering information about numbers, times, venues etc. Just ask for help.

RAFFLE & MEMBER LIAISON, EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY REP  - JO ROBERTS
My role is Member Liaison, and I am the link between the committee and our members.  I take suggestions or questions from members and pass these on to the committee for discussion and solution where possible. I am also responsible for organising our monthly raffle and buying the prizes. As part of my role I am reposnsible for Equality and Diversity.

WEBSITE COORDINATOR- CAROLE HUGHES
My role has been to set-up, organise and maintain the Heswall Honeys' Website. We hope the website will provide a window on our WI, demonstrating who we are and to give a flavour of the range of activities we have on offer.

P.A.L REP & NORTH WIRRAL GROUP REP- JANE KIRKAM
I represent the Heswall Honeys WI at the North Wirral WI Group meetings.  We discuss issues relevant to the North Wirral Group, find out about activities each group has taken part in and hear about talks given by speakers.

 MARGARET HUNTRISS
My role is to support the committee and lend a hand to the hospitality team by taking over the helm in Ann's absence.
