The Annual Quiz was held at Franklyn's Bar in Heswall. We all got our thinking caps on as there were some tricky questions about Welsh Castles!
We celebrated Women's International Day at Debenham's. The store pulled out all the stops out, treating us to master classes on make-up, demonstrations on how to use a personal shopper, and entertained by a singer while we had afternoon tea.
When visiting the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool we were given an insight into how it was built and the daily life of a working faith community. The volunteers were a mine of information and were enthusiastic when responding to our questions.

September
We were fortunate to visit the National Arboretum in Staffordshire, a year-round centre of Remembrance; a spiritually uplifting place which honours the fallen, recognises service and sacrifice, and fosters pride in our country. The Arboretum is a 150 acre site of woodland with a maturing landscape of 30,000 trees. Nestled in the woodland there are 300 memorials, each with a story to be shared. Some of the Heswall Honeys discovered the WI memorial seat and can be seen enjoying its story.

Later in the month a group took part in a tour of the steamship 'Danny' which was moored at the Albert Dock in Liverpool. The steamship has a wonderful history and would have been lost if not for a dedicated band of volunteers who have lovingly restored it back to its original condition. It continues to work on the River Weaver as a pleasure cruiser.

A surprise addition to the social this year was a '5 minute panto' by the Committee. Having rehearsed for months- half an hour actually- the budding thespians performed 'Cinderella'!
The hospitality team did a sterling job providing a hot and cold buffet for over a hundred member.
We were also entertained by the Wirral Ukulele Band, who ensured lots of audience participation!
