Group Leader: Janet Sowden
We meet on the 1st Thursday of the month from 10.00am to 12.00 noon at:
Newton Village Hall (CH48 8BJ)
NB no meeting in May due to Local Elections
The Craft group is for people who enjoy making all sorts of things, but like to do it with others! We get together and share ideas with each other. We bring along items that we have made and this can lead to a ‘group make’ demonstration. Some months not much crafting is done, but plenty of talking, laughter and drinking of tea takes place!
Twice a year, when school holidays coincide with our meetings, we like to invite children to join us to encourage them with their craft.
Over the time we have been working together, we have made items including: Christmas decorations, Easter lambs and Valentine hearts, which have been sold for charity.
Royal Cheshire Show Group.
This is an off-shoot of the craft group that meets to ‘create’ Heswall Honeys' exhibits for the Royal Cheshire Show.
At our meetings we discuss what, who and how we are going to make the exhibits. Also, we eat rather a lot of cookery samples just to make sure they are up to standard!!!
