2023 Meetings
Thursday 2nd March at 2pm at Heswall Tennis Club
Sandra will be giving a talk about how we developed our garden, the National Garden Scheme (NGS), the charities involved, how we have participated in the scheme and some of the lovely gardens you can visit. There will be lots of new gardens this year so come along and hear all about the NGS.
£3 charge to cover donation to the NGS and room charge.
Thursday 6th April at 2pm at Heswall Tennis Club
Ken Black will give a talk about growing clematis to include a demonstration on propagation and a chance to buy some cuttings. £3 charge to cover speaker and room hire
Ken is opening his garden for the NGS which is called Adswood in Mollington on 8th, 9th, 29th and 30th April so perhaps you can follow up the talk with a visit to his lovely garden. Full details can be found on the NGS website.
Thursday 4th May
The Bodnant coach trip is now booked up with a waiting list. Alison Adlard has sent out details in the HH activities newsletter about payment if you are not a National Trust member. We are really looking forward to an exciting day in Wales and seeing Bodnant at it’s spring best.
Thursday 1st June
We will be returning to Sandymere garden near Delamere with an optional visit to Morreys Nursery in Kelsall beforehand and lunch at the Fishpool Inn. Sandymere is home to Sir John Timpson, Chairman of Timpsons and foster carer to 90 children. He has opened his beautiful garden for the NGS for many years. £7 charge donated to the NGS. Please indicate whether you would like me to book lunch as well as the garden.
July 13th
We will be visiting Rachel Summers beautiful garden in Caldy. The committee will provide refreshments and the cost is £7. You may remember that Rachel gave us an excellent talk about Caldy Open Gardens and Koala NW last year so proceeds will go to Koala NW.
